Probett Guitars Rocket '54 Prototype - 2015

Hi All! If you are viewing this, then maybe you are aware that this is one of one Probett ‘54’s in existence. It is the Prototype, and has been built to impress and perform on the highest level possible to those who encounter this amazing creation.

It is built to evolve or improve upon the 50’s Gibson format, sharing some similarities from an electronics, build material, and controls perspective. But improved upon, not only with Damian’s best of the best design and assembly skills, but also by incorporating ease of access to the fret board (check out the carve in the lower bout!), upgrading the bridge to a NOS Pigtail intonatable wrap around, and utilizing the best of modern day materials, including Hayden Minett’s formidable skills as a pickup constructor.

We’ve had 7 Probett’s come through our shop, and I’ve played 5 of them. This one is the biggest, boldest and best playing of them all. (I am still partial to that dual hum bucker Rocket III that just passed through, but that’s mainly due to Damian’s way with a trem). That said, you understand the extra effort that went into the creation of this instrument when you pick it up and begin to play. Effortless playing, and seemingly endless sustain. The P90’s are very rich, yet maintain a real sparkle, ideal for all playing styles. They are the quietest P90’s I’ve played to Damian and Hayden’s credit.

As this guitar is the Prototype, it has been played. It has checking on the top, wear on the back and near the input jack, as well as some on the headstock. However with the playability at 100%, it is very easy to believe this guitar was reliced intentionally.

It is a one of one, and performs on all levels in the top tier of all modern electric boutique builders. Please reach out with questions on this unique and rare instrument.
