Tao Guitars “Nami”, new exclusive model for Guitars-Electric

Some time ago an interesting conversation about offset Japanese guitars from the sixties era started between Serge (from Tao) and myself.

Soon I was to discover that he would love to transform his admiration for these instruments and pay a tribute by creating a Tao offset model.  Cool, right?

The Idea was to create a guitar with none of the usual flaws that the old originals were notorious for, and build a great sounding and versatile guitar that will take you many different places in sonic exploration.  Our version of what we thought the original design team had in mind when putting these on the market.

As a starting point John and Serge wanted to use elements of the Yamaha SG 5 model from 1960 coupled with their own bass guitar design, the "Charger".

Brainstorming quickly turned into productive woodworking which led to what we have here today.  An extremely elegant offset paired with a Chrysler Light Green Metallic finish, named “Nami” ("Wave" in Japanese).
